October 1/17, 5 pm to 7 pm is the OCWC Beach Baptism (12+ Churches gather) North Of Sharkys at North Brohard Park. . Our first city wide baptism was in September 2009. Since then, we have witnessed over 200+ baptized in the name of Jesus. We have had 4,000+ people witness these professions of faith on the beach. Everyone is welcome!
October 28 2017 is the fifth annual Make A Difference Day. The first four years has seen us refresh, 97 city park locations. 100+ bench repairs and 30+ picnic tables built. The spread of 10+ tons of mulch. 2+ miles of fence slats installed. 60+ gallons of paint used. 6 tons of debris collected.
We have consumed 1,100 + hamburgers and hot dogs. Food is prepared by volunteers from the faith community.
Over the 4 years we have had representatives from 45+ churches, 20+ service organizations and 400+ Venice High Students, 200 + school aged students and hundreds of individuals who join together to Make A Difference.
Some families have 3 generations volunteering to Make a Difference. We have city leaders, Corporations, Law Enforcement, EMT, 20+ clubs/teams and several home associations.
